Around 15 teachers from different schools with their supervisors attended our
professional day. The day started with assembly programmes and then a
demonstration lesson done by Fatma Al Kindi. The lesson was in grade 2. It was
about the parts of the body. And it was an interesting lesson with many
motivational activities

Grade 9 students showed high interest through bringing 2 different cultures alive to the school that day, the Iranian Culture and the Indian culture. The use of the English language in the shows showed how our students like the language and work hard to learn it.
They presented everything related to the two cultures; history, traditions, food, celebrations and values

We know that teaching is a challenging job especially with young learners, but you can keep them engaged in the classrooms by differentiating teaching and using innovative and creative things.

"Dead time" is a natural consequence of an Education system that has the teacher at the top and the students at the bottom doing things they do not want to do. If you want kids to be genuinely active and interested, let them learn whatever they want, in whichever way they want and be there to support and guide them. Encourage them to work together and try their hands in projects with real-world relevance. Encourage and do not force.

Motivation is a system that helps us to train students' brains to be more efficient. It raises the areas of interest in students and keeps them engaged and have fun. That was our next station in our professional day. It was a workshop about '' How to keep your students engaged". It was prepared and presented by Shamsa Al Reshaidi; an English lecturer in College of Applied Sciences in Sohar. Shamsa clarified for the audience the meaning of motivation and engaged them with different activities.

During the workshop two of our students, Aysha Faris from grade 9 and Mariam Al-Awadhi from grade 10, participated and talked about what make them highly motivated in the classrooms which added a new taste to the workshop

After that our guests visited the Motivation City where they found students with different jobs, crafts and hobbies. The visitors enjoyed the traditional Omani song that called Al Aazi and which presented in a new way using English words with the original song by our creative grade 4 students
