It was just the welcoming word we started our English Festival on Monday 14thof April in Bilad Bani Bu Ali School. The festival was prepared to be in two days. Countless games were prepared for our students to enjoy and adore.

First Day:
The programme started with welcoming teachers and students to the festival by grade 10 students opening show under supervision of teacher Aysha Al Senedi.

After that a puppet show by teacher Rahma AlAlawi with grade 9 students was presented in a funny acting of the well- known story Little Red RidingHood.

Then , children from Al Jeel Al Sae'd school introduced two beautiful dances and shows which fascinated the spectators.

Next,English teachers congratulated and awarded grade 12 students who have got (A)& (B) in semester one. Certificates and gifts were distributed followed by a movie maker show by teacher Salha AlMaghousi to celebrate and appreciate their efforts to get that high marks. We were so glad to have our supervisor Mrs. Nasra Al Maamari who joined us in the celebration.

Later, teacher Rahma Al Alawi did a writing lecture entitled STEP BY STEP TO WRITE WELL aimed to help 30 students who have difficulties in writing to learnthe basic rules to write correctly. The lecture included many simple and different tasks for practice.

class 11/2also did an interesting programme called I have a dream. It involved a short play, a movie maker show, some presentations about their dreams and different funny games under supervision of teacher Aysha Al Senedi.

Moreover, many presentations were arranged in substitution classes included: how to developyour reading skills and speaking to teach students some useful strategies to improve their skills.

Later on,in the fourth period and the break time all the students were invited to participate in the games done in the yard. Many games were prepared which really interest students to take part in.

Reading and speaking games in the yard included : snake&ladder, book café, story maker, what can picture tell, vocabulary and definition, card and expression, tongue twister, story teller, run to win, read to discover the pictures, don't say yes or no.

Writing and listening games in the yard included: Hang girl, spell orally, sound alike,word of mouth, which one, collect and create, enjoy writing, play with words,best comment, words and pictures, build a tower, touch and write, words and definitions,make your flower, the best handwriting, spell and learn, look ..think and comment and compete with balloons. Many thanks for students who organized thegames and teachers Rahma Al Alawi, Aysha Al Senedi, Basma Al Kasbi, Asma Al Arimi and Safia AL Senedi.

The winners in the competitions were awarded with different gifts including tickets to attend the English cinema next day and enjoy watching a funny movie.

Second day:
The EnglishFestival continued its second day welcoming guests from other schools besides ourgrateful supervisors; Mrs. Nasra Al Maamari , Mrs. Fatma AL Hakamani and Mrs.Fatma Al Senedi with our pleased feeling to have them all joining us in our occasion.

The day started by a welcoming show by grade 10 students undersupervision of teacher Aysha Al Senedi. Children from Abdullah Bin Al AbbasPrivate School presented beautiful and interesting shows that entertained the students together with the teachers.

Then the students moved around to participate in the many competitions spread in the school including the following competitions:
Listening contest for grade 9 by teachers Rahma Al Alawi, Basma Al Kasbi and Safya Al Senedi. Nine students competed in four challenging phases to score the highest mark to be the winner.

Exceed to read competition was another challenging competition by teachers Safia Al Zaree And Amna Al Araimi where 20 students contested in two different levels of reading questions.10 students were excluded after the first phase whereas 10 competed again to gain more points. Finally, three students who got higher points were announcedas winners.

Teachers SalhaAl Maghousi and Nasra Al Kasbi organized the speaking competition (pick tospeak) for grade 11 where 16 students from four schools were tested inpresenting different topics in a very short time (one minute). Students were assessed according to some certain criteria like self-confidence, language and pronunciation and given marks. Eventually, two students were selected aswinners.

Fantasy writing was an inspiring competition for grade 12 organized by teachers Asma AlArimi and Aysha Al Senedi. Six students competed to write the most wonderful story to win the prize.

After that,students went to the theater to enjoy and participate the different games under supervision of teacher Basma Al Kasbi. Students took part in many interesting games and were happy and pleased competing other mates.
Then, the audience enjoyed a movie maker by teacher Safia Al Zaree that presented and summarized all the activities , games and lectures done in the first day.

Next , teacher Asma Al Arimi gave a lecture about (the most common mistakes in writing) which most of the students make while writing and how to avoid them to get a correct piece of writing free of mistakes. It also included some tasks to be corrected based in the tips given.

Finally the audience enjoyed a wonderful play entitled Books Can Do All the Good created by teacher Ruqaya Al Senedi witha group of fluent students. Students acted different scenes where they tried to hold the idea that reading books is very essential demand and lead us to prestigious positions.
