Hi all..
The workshop in Dhofar region take place in:
o 2-4.Sep.2014: at the Training Centre for supervisors and some senior teachers. (will train supervisors and teachers who will cascade the training next week ).
o 9-11.Sep.2014: at the Learning Resource Centre in four piloting cycle 1 schools; Al-Maarefa,Al-Wadi, Al-Kawakib and A'Dahariez.( 167 Grade 1 teachers and Senior teachers).
o 16-18.Sep.2014: at the Training Centre for the far-distained Schools (more than 150 km away far from Salalah City ).

In my group, this week training will :
o Hold in for three days on; Tuesday; Wednesday and Thursday
o From 8:00 am till 12:00 pm
o At Al-Maarefa School.
o The trainers are the supervisors : Fatma Al-Kaaf and Manal Gharim.
o The target group to coach are the teachers of Grade 1 and the senior teachers in each Cycle 1 Schools; Nashib, Wadi Ain, Al-Badaaea, Alsan, Al-Amanah, Ashnheeb,Al-Qaradh, Astaah and Soub. And some supervisors.

Jolly Phonics Workshop
A new programme is going to start applying it in all of our schools, that focuses on sounds and actions to teach letters of English Alphabet in the Basic Education Curriculum in Grades 1
Aim of the workshop
To support the teachers in cascading a 3 day workshop to a team of supervisors, senior English teachers and trainers who will train Grade 1 English teachers
To ensure they can effectively implement Jolly Phonics in their schools during Semester 1 of the 2014/2015 school year
Objectives of the workshop
o To ensure Ts have a good understanding of phonics and the principles and practices used to each phonics in the Jolly Phonics programme
o To make sure Ts are familiar with the Jolly Phonics recourses and know how to use these
o To ensure Ts understand the components a Jolly Phonics lesson and the effectivedelivery of Jolly Phonics in schools
o To ensure Ts feel confident in delivering training to those who will train Grade1 teachers in schools
Organization of the workshop
o Day1 # Introducing the Jolly Phonics programme – principles and practice
o Day2 # Introduction to Jolly Phonics materials and the Jolly Phonics lesson
o Day3 # Putting Jolly Phonics into practice in schools
