Introduction:
To continue the professional development programmes for the English staff, The human resources department in Musandam region has arranged a work shop for the English teachers in Musandam about the good planning and how planning leads to success. The programmed was presented on two days by Mr. Naif Al Abri from Dhahira region.
The programme continued for two days; One day for the teachers of Khasab section and the other day was for Dibba
teachers' section.
Trainer in lines :
The trainer is Mr. Naif Al Abri. He is a supervisor in Dhahira region and also is participating in the ministry training programmes . He is participating in the ministry programme to train all teachers in all regions in their regions.
He is very experienced in training and he professional development and is aware of the teachers' needs as he worked as a teacher, a super visor and also as a trainer.
The main aims of the programme are to investigate the skills and strategies of lesson planning and preparation in the teaching process and to identify obstacles that teachers face when preparing for their lessons and to recommend practical solutions.
The senior supervisor and the people in charge of the training center welcomed the trainer and gave all help and support to the trainer to help in getting the required success for the success.
The trainer used many techniques and could vary his strategies in introducing the main topic and could get all participants involved in the workshop. Participants weren't only involved in the tasks but also interested in the activities.
Teachers worked in groups to write successful lesson plans in a few minutes and started to think positively about the lesson planning as some teachers aren't enough enthusiastic to the lesson planning.
Trainer used the strategy of "gallery look" in presenting works.
All participants were very active because of the attractive and interesting strategies that the trainer used . These strategies helped participants not to feel bored or switch off during the programme.
Thw workshop discussed the teaching of the four skills Listening, Reading, Writing and speaking. The workshop focused on the practical strategies to develop teachers' planning skills and also discussed the teaching techniques that improve the teachers' performance in teaching.
