Army Forces Museum Committee Visits Al Saidia School Museum

Headed by, Brigadier Saud Al Hatmi,the chief of military ceremonies and public relations at the Minister of Defense,the Committee of developing the Army Forces Museum visited Al Saidia School Museum on Tuesday morning. The Committee was received by Rudaina Al Hajri, Director-assistant of Al Saidia School Educational Museum.
The Committee toured the Museum halls as they learned about the beginning of writing and schools in history, the history of education development in the Sultanate, the educational process in the Sultanate from the 17th century till the end of the 19th century, and the schools in Oman since the late 19th century till 1970.

The Committee also was briefed on the role of the Omanis in the dissemination of education in East Africa, ********s and archives of Al Saidia School in Muscat, as well as the developments in education in all its different forms in the Sultanate in the prosperous era of HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Allah protect him.

On the aims of the visit, the Brigadier Saud Al Hatmi said: “this visit aimed at getting to know what is new and useful in this Museum, which is one of the oldest museums in the Sultanate. The Committee was informed about the content of the museum in its different halls; that clarify the history of education in the Sultanate and the stages it went through. This Museum is a learning source for all generations and I thank the management of the museum for the opportunity of this visit.”

The Director of the Sultan's Armed Forces Museum, Colonel Hamad Al Bosaidi, said that this visit was “helpful as it reminded us with the beginnings of education and the role of this prestigious school in the upbringing those generations who made the history of Oman, and had the lead in educating generations to contribute in building up our country.”
