HE Saud Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development, inaugurated the project of analyzing and ********ing the Quality Management System (ISO 9001: 2015) on the divisions of the Ministry of Education. The inauguration was attended by HE Sheikh Mohammed Al-Tobi, Councilor at the ministry, HE Dr. Hamoud Al Harthi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education and Curriculum, and Director-Generals and Directors of departments and their deputiesin the Ministry.

This project comes as a second stage for the application of the quality management system ISO 9001, which was adopted by the Ministry of Education in 2010. The application of the ISO 9001 is part of the Ministry’s five-year plan in order to raise the standards of services provided by the ministry and to improve the processes and procedures associated with the consent of the beneficiaries through meeting their needs and requirements, and to includeeducational workers in decision-making and develop their abilities and skills. The project was applied in its first phase onthe Directorate-General of Planning and Quality Controland the Directorate-General of Administrative Affairs. The second phase of the project will include analyzing and ********ing operations in the various divisions of the Ministry of Education.


The inauguration ceremony included an opening speech delivered by HE Saud Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the MoE for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development in which he said: “This project aims to rehabilitate all the structural divisions of the Ministry of Education to implement the quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 last issued 2015.The project includes three main stages: preparation, evaluation and diagnosis, and ********ation. Each stage has its objectives and outputs that can be assessed through indicators related to each stage”.

The company executing the project gavevisual presentation on the project (awareness, analysis and ********ation of processes and procedures of Moe’sQuality Management System according to the requirements of (ISO 9001: 2015). The presentation was delivered by Aqil Hashmanifrom Al Gadara Company for Trade Solutions, in which he shed light on the scope of the project, its stages and goals of each stage,outputs summary of each stage, the most important responsibilities and roles of the project management, senior management and the project work team, as well as the project plan, which will last up to 18 months.


Following the presentation, discussion was open forattendees to ask questions about the mechanism of implementation of the project and its objectives.
On the importance of Moe’s application of the project, SalehAl Falahi, director-assistant of Quality ControlDepartment at the Directorate-General for Planning and Quality Control, said: “analysis and ********ation of Quality Management System on the divisions of the Ministry comes to achieve many goals, most important of which is to raise the efficiency of the administrative system practice in the ministry and to achieve user satisfaction and the fulfillment of their requirements. The project was first applied in conforming in 2010 and the ministry managed to get a certificate of conformity from ISO Organization in 2014 and in 2015 the conformity was confirmed and the Ministry got the certificate again. Yet the second stage of the project will include the analysis and ********ation of the various divisions of the Ministry of Education and will last up to 18 months.Through the application of this stage, the project will achieve many benefits, including reducing the effort made by the employee and figuring out detailed steps clearly with signs of administrative work indicators.
