An idiom : is a combination of words that has a
figurative meaning owing to its common usage. An idiom's figurative meaning is separate from the literal meaning. There are thousands of idioms and they occur frequently in all languages

:able to (do something) with one's eyes closed/shut
to be able to do something very easily

The car mechanic was able to fix my car with his eyes closed

mainly, especially

I like adventure movies but above all I love horror movies



:Absent-minded

to be forgetful

My grandfather is very absent-minded and he often forgets his keys

to provide an answer/explanation for something

to misbehave

Example
The children began to act up during the field trip



: after all

emphasizes something that should be considered

You don't need to phone him. After all, he never phones you

before a particular time

to broadcast something on television or radio

:Example
They will air the game tomorrow

suddenly, without warning

:Example
All at once, the fire alarm rang and we had to leave the building

to listen eagerly and carefully
