Sept. 19: National Ferries Company (NFC) will launch its second regional destination from Khasab in the Governorate of Musandam to Bandar Abbas in Iran on September 25. NFC had commenced ferry service to Qeshm, another major Iranian city, in July.
The new service will be launched under the auspices of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry. A number of top ministry officials will accompany him on the occasion.
The twice-a-week service (Thursday and Saturday) will leave Khasab at 7 am and reach Bandar Abbas at 8 am (local time), according to NFC sources. It takes about two hours to reach Bandar Abbas.
“The new service to Bandar Abbas will cater to the increasing demand for bilateral transportation of people and goods,” an NFC representative told the Observer.
“We have seen an increase in the number of tourists and businessmen travelling to and from Iran. The new would mean a lot for them.”
Fares are as follows on Bandar Abbas route: economy class RO 35 (one-way) and RO 60 (return); business class RO 60 (one-way) and RO 90 (return).
For Qeshm service, economy class RO 25 (one-way) and RO 45 (return); business class RO 50 (one-way) and RO 80 (return).
