American expert, presented a workshop for cycle one teachers in Ibra



On the 5th of October 2016 ,Karen Konnerth,an American expert, presented a workshop for cycle one teachers and supervisors about using puppetry in teaching.It was held in the training center in Ibra. First,she presented some background information about this art.She gave the audience some interesting information about the history of puppetry,different types of it in different countries around the world and the usages of it. She also introduced some of her own made puppets and her wonderful experience with this beautiful art.In the next part of the workshop,the audience worked in groups to prepare for a performance using shadow puppets



.They created their own stories and designed their own puppets using simple materials.The shows were wonderful and were discussed to get immediate feedback for better performance. Latter,the audience had the chance to give suggestions for how they can apply what they have already learnt in their classes with their students. During the last part of the workshop,the presenter presented different types of puppets which were made by simple materials and she explained how they can be used



.Finally,the teachers used their own creativity and the knowledge they got from the workshop to design beautiful puppets.
