The Right to Sight –Refractive errors is a priority withinthe global initiative for theelimination of avoidable errors. Salalah International School has organized a eye check – up with Al ZahirOpticals Salalah. The objective of thisevent was to spread awarenesson eye disorders, their early detection andto detect refractive errorsand eye ailments among our children.

The team comprised of:
1.Sabnendulal (Optometrist ,Al Zahir Opticals)
2.Jaisal(Sales executive, Al Zahir Opticals
3. School Nurse

Optometrist has brought visual equipment todetect the visual acuity. A total of 49 students were targeted, . Of 40 students screened mostof the students have visualimpairment.16 students have a normal 6/6 vision.12 students were detected with partial visualimpairment which
need consultation.12 students detected with visual impairment6/9 to 6/12 which need furthercheck up for eye. Students andteachers were actively participated in the checkup. Detected studentswere given a slip along with circular from school for follow up with the ophthalmologist
