my favorite sport is bowling


Bowling is my favorite sport because I enjoy it and I have a lot of fun in playing it. Most people think that bowling is just a game, but in fact bowling is a sport. Today, the sport of bowling is enjoyed by 95 million people in more than 90 countries worldwide.
Bowling has many positive points. It's an anaerobic type of physical exercise, like walking with free weights. Bowling helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised. The flexing and stretching in bowling works tendons, joints, ligaments, and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss. While most sports are not for elderly people, it is possible to practice bowling very well at advanced ages. Apart from the physical benefits, it also has psychosocial benefits strengthening friendships or creating new ones in groups. Another form of bowling is usually played outdoors on a lawn.
On the other hand, bowling balls are heavy that's why bowlers should keep their hands clear of it. Bowlers should also warm up their fingers before inserting them into a bowling ball, to make sure that their fingers do not get stuck in the ball. In addition, if the bowling shoe sole gets wet, it can stick like glue on the floor. Bowlers have to be careful from any mistake.
All in all, although bowling can be dangerous it's very nice sport because you can play it with your friends or with your family. Also, you can play it alone. Finally, bowling is like any other physical activity, warming up helps prevent injuries.
